Golden Hour

Family sessions are never about perfectly posed smiles or trying to force children to sit still. The sessions I photograph are relaxed, movement-led, and centered around connection - allowing space for personalities, interaction, and genuine moments to unfold naturally.

Golden hour sessions in Bathurst offer the most beautiful soft light for documenting families honestly and simply.

Family of four enjoying a golden hour sunset picnic in a field, mom in red dress sharing a tender moment with toddler daughter.
Family of four posing at golden hour in a field, mother in red dress holding baby, father kissing her cheek.

Rather than focusing on perfection, I guide families gently while allowing children room to move, play, and interact naturally with one another. The result is imagery that feels warm, emotive, and reflective of this season exactly as it is.

These sessions are intentionally relaxed and designed to feel more like time spent together than a traditional photoshoot. Having my own children, I am so aware of how these sessions can feel. The desperation to get them smiling, happily into the camera. As a mother & a photographer I've come to lean into the natural, losing the requirement for focused smiling kids, and instead throw myself into capturing the real. The giggles & the interactions.

Two young siblings sit on a white blanket in a golden field, older girl hugging toddler boy, both wearing rust-toned outfits.

I photograph family sessions throughout Bathurst and surrounding Central West locations with a calm and documentary-inspired approach.
